Migun utilizes the Oriental medical principles of moxibustion heat therapy
and acupressure and simulates or is inspired by some of the methods
and principles of acupuncture (without the use of needles) and therapeutic
massage and basic chiropractic effect (without the use or application
of human hands.) According to Oriental Medicine the human body has 365
acupressure points. The Migun approach is to concentrate on some of
the most vital acupuncture points located near the spine.
Acupuncture started in 4,000 BC on the East Coast of China where
the inhabitants. using sharp stones applied to points around the body as a means to relieve pain, discovered via trial and error the fundamental theory
that the human body is a "miniature
universe" with all parts of the body interconnected.
Oriental medical practitioners have mapped the human body with acupuncture
points and uncovered that the majority of vital healing points were
located near the spine. Those points can now be understood as the pathways
for the nervous system. Until recently few people in Western Society
had the opportunity to experience this type of treatment because of
a lack of understanding of Oriental Medicine. Fortunately, Migun has
now opened up the world of Oriental Medicine to bring it to the public
in a way that is easy, comfortable and effective.
It
is believed that a healthy spine is necessary if one is to lead an
enjoyable, healthy, and long life. The spine is the pillar of the
human body. It is connected to all internal organs, muscles and nerves.
In fact, all brain activities are regulated by the functions of the
spine.
The spine is a column of bones called vertebrae. Human beings have
7 cervical, 12 thoracic, 5 lumber, 5 sacral, and 3-5 coccyx vertebrae.
The function of the spinal cord depends on the condition of the vertebrae.
When mobility of the vertebrae is lost the reflexes become dull. When
the spine is distorted the nerves are compressed and the result is
that all the organs controlled by those nerves will not perform properly.
Chiropractic therapy attempts to correct the distorted vertebrae and
normalize the functions of the organs, muscles, tissues, and nerves.
Considering the importance of the spine, it is
apparent that maintaining
a healthy spine is the key to a healthy life. An unhealthy and distorted
spine may cause one to suffer from disorders such as lumbago, tinnitus,
and disc related problems. Maintaining one's posture and keeping the
back warm are good ways to care for the spine. |
